Item #5683 Monarda h. 'Bergamo'
|Ground Condition:||well drained|
Winner of the 2008 Fleuroselect Gold Medal -- the top international honor awarded to a flowering seed.
Bergamo stunned the judges with its earliness to flower and very distinctive rose-purple blooms. Bergamo also is unusual in its dwarf, compact form and incredibly high resistant to powdery mildew. Bergamo is hardy, but literally blooms itself to death with an extremely long flowering period and is therefore often an annual. Creates impressive border displays and stunning mass plantings. Great in containers and rock gardens. Loved by butterflies and hummingbirds! Blooms: late spring-late summer. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds, fragrant and good for cutting.
